Graphic Design

Graphic design encompasses everything from traditional marketing materials such as brochures, postcards, and business cards to new technology design such as web site design and interactive media design.

My Tools

Just like it take many different tools to build a house, it takes different tools to design and produce graphic design files. Depending on the project I use one or more of the following applications or tools.
Adobe PhotoshopAdobe IllustratorAdobe InDesignAdobe FlashAdobe AcrobatQuarkXpressPhotomatixMicrosoft WindowsMac OS XCanon Rebel XTi - 400D

Previous Work

Here are some examples of some of my previous graphic design work. I have been lucky enough in the past to have been able to work with many different forms of graphic design. I love learning new technology and techniques of developing a graphic or message to reach a targeted audience. Below are examples from the many different types of media I have worked with in the past.

Logo Design Peking House Logo

The Peking House Chinese Restaurant needed a simple, but bold logo to place on the front of full size and fold up menus. The logo I created for them used familiar Chinese characters and the rising sun to ensure the local American market knows what type of restaurant their establishment is.

Photo Retouching

Below are before and after pictures of a road widening project that city officials wanted to see the end results before they began construction. See my photography section for more examples of my photography and photo retouching.

Illustration

Salvador Dali Illustration
This is an illustration I did based on Salvador Dali’s Figure between the Rocks. I drew the main illustration in Illustrator, and applied a more modern grudge background later in Photoshop.

Screen Printing

Here are a few of the screen printing projects that I have had an opportunity to work on. In two previous places of employment I have worked through the entire process of screen printing, from the art approval forms to producing the negative film to exposing the screen.

The preview to the right is a graphic I designed for Docubase Systems, Inc. The center area was intentionally left blank to allow for a laptop to project on.
